Thomas, Vivian

Hello, my name is Vivian Thomas, and I am honored to serve as President for the 2024–2026 biennium.

I am a proud graduate of Jarvis Christian University (formerly Jarvis Christian College), where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics/Computer Science. I later obtained a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University, further strengthening my passion for leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational excellence. In addition to my formal education, I hold professional certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Scrum Master, and ITIL, which enhance my approach to effective leadership, process improvement, and service delivery.

My Delta journey began in the Fall of 1984, when I was initiated into the Theta Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, on the campus of Jarvis Christian College. There were 13 on our Fall '84 line and I held the #10 position. Since that time, I have remained deeply committed to the ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action, which continue to guide both my personal and professional life.

Service is truly part of my DNA. Over the years, I have joyfully dedicated my time and talents to a variety of community initiatives, including serving as a Junior Achievement Facilitator, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, supporting local food banks, and serving as an Election Judge for Tarrant County since 2021. I have also been a member of The Potter’s House of Dallas since 2004, where I have served on the television ministry, God’s Leading Ladies, and Megacare. In 2012, after completing more than 100 volunteer service hours, I was humbled to receive a Volunteer Service Award from the Corporation for National & Community Service, along with a Presidential Volunteer Service letter from President Barack Obama.

I am the proud mother of two daughters, Skyla and Kaylen, and the adoring grandmother of my grandson, Micah. I also share my home with my energetic six-year-old Shih Tzu, Blaze. In my spare time, I enjoy hosting gatherings for family and friends, reading, traveling, and watching tennis—both on television and in person.

Fun fact: Many years ago, I was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune and also worked as an art broker—two unique experiences that added a little adventure and creativity to my journey. 🎨🎡
